Change Team:
Spring Update (kind of)
by posted 03/29/2020

Hey All -

Per an email awhile back, I explained US Youth Soccer and IYSA will not allow us to have organized events until April 15. As the chaos continues on I'm guessing that our start date will be pushed back but can't give a definitive answer on when we will start up again. We have our games scheduled as-is for now but I have a feeling we will be rescheduled April games so be on the lookout. We also got placed, but not seeded, into President's Cup (not States Cup) which means thanks to Gotsoccer rankings, we will have to take part in a play-in game on April 25 in Rockford, if they don't change the format of the tournament (it's hard to explain in writing but when we get together in person I'll explain further).

It's imperative that the girls continue to keep working individually. While the weather can often be a deterrent, there now seems to be a lot of free time...I strongly encourage the girls to WATCH as many games as possible. It's a different aspect of learning and growing as a player. It can be easy to just watch high-level games but I'd encourage all sorts of viewings. If the girls have aspirations to play in college maybe have them search YouTube for the different levels (Div 1, 2, 3, etc) and compare differences. I did a search and found three different level games within 5 min.

See below for examples but have them search as well!

Northwestern Women's Soccer (Division 1)

Grand Valley State University Women's Soccer (Division 2) - My buddy Jeff is the head coach here!

Elmhurst College Women's Soccer (Division 3)

I hope all is well with you and your family.

Thanks and keep the videos coming!

2020 Quarantine Practice Competition!
by posted 03/23/2020

Hey All -

Apologies for the radio silence during this wild time but I’ve been bedridden the past week with shingles and occipital neuralgia. Apparently the combination of those two things has led me to some of the worst pain of my life!! I’m on the road to recovery and it could’ve been worse I suppose.

I know I mentioned I'd send some stuff out for the girls to be working on but I wanted to take it to the next level to add some fun in competition. Below there is a link to a google form where the girls can fill out how they’ve been training, physically or mentally, to prepare for our spring season. It’s pretty basic but allows them to accumulate points every day for doing certain activities related to training! Please save the link so they can fill it out daily! It will start TODAY and end on April 10th.

2020 Quarantine Practice Competition

If you’re wondering what type of soccer activities you can do, see below!

I’ll send standings out at the end of each week.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks and be safe!
